VERVEINE is a landscape architecture studio based in Barcelona and founded in 2015 by Lina Seguró Mendlewicz.
Specialised in landscape projects, both small and large scale, the studio works under a distinctive signature defined by sensitivity and technical innovation.
Lina Seguró Mendlewicz founded VERVEINE with the purpose and vision of creating a studio where the creative process could be complete—from conception to construction. A project capable of integrating nature into people’s way of life, enhancing the quality of living spaces, and weaving together interior and exterior architecture.
Founder and director of VERVEINE, Lina is a landscape architect trained at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB_UPC) and an Agricultural Engineer from the Barcelona School of Agriculture (ESAB_UPC). In parallel, she complemented her education at the École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage (ENSP_Versailles).
Her professional activity began in 1995, collaborating with various landscape studios such as Factors de Paisatge, led by Manuel Colominas. She later worked for several public institutions, including the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, the Diputació de Barcelona, INCASOL, and the municipalities of Barcelona, Castelldefels and Sant Boi de Llobregat. In 2002, she began her independent career, carrying out projects for both public and private spaces.
Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous national and international competitions, with projects and presence in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, London, Berlin, Frankfurt, and New York.
As a professor, she has taught landscape architecture at the Barcelona School of Architecture ETSAB_UPC and at ELISAVA.
One of their projects, RLL41, is a landscape architecture intervention on the new rooftop of an office building in Barcelona, which was a finalist in the 2022 World Landscape Architecture Awards in the Built—Small Landscape Design category. It is a connector garden that is seamlessly integrated into the trophic network of birds in this region of the city. The garden has an industrialized construction system that enabled a rapid, precise and controlled installation. This project has emerged as a compelling illustration of how technical innovation can transform a secondary space into a contemporary landscape of high value, integrating sustainability, aesthetics, and functionality. Additionally, in a region with a high building density and few green spaces, it has emerged as a key ecological point.
With a vision that combines landscape architecture, agricultural engineering and furniture design, Lina can reveal the aesthetic beauty that coexists and dialogues between vegetal exuberance, architectural solidity and artisanal attention. Her approach creates places with identity, rooted in their cultural and natural context, guided by a belief in the inspiring power of landscape.
We take care of the entire process, from the project to construction, from the first conversation to the creation of the new “VERVEINE space”, making sure that in every phase coherence and the initial intention is preserved.
At the studio, each project is developed globally, through a way of understanding the design and working method that allows us to offer an integral service, from project to construction, as well as an accompaniment or a punctual counselling when it is required and according to the client’s necessities
Each project starts with the comprehension of the site, its natural and architectual conditions as well as the intended programme, in order to establish the foundation for a proposal that coherently integrates space and use. The aim is to define a Preliminary Design / Basic Project.
We develop the Executive project as a tailor-made solution, defining the technical and construction aspects required to establish the conditions for execution and ensure the correct materialisation of the project.
We carry out construction with great attention to detail, coordinating the VERVEINE team and adapting to the specific requirements of each project. Everything is organised to optimise the process and guarantee Construction execution that is coherent with the context and the defined programme. In this way, we meticulously create detailed spaces that reflect an in-depht understanding of materials and the intervened space.
The results become poetic spaces capable of addressing the proposed challenges and enhancing their value for our clients, contributing to a higher quality of life. After completing the project execution, we can also participate in the maintenance of the space, if desired by the client, as it is part of our mission to create and design places with a life of their own.
VERVEINE is a multidisciplinary team in which each member contributes their own experience and specialised knowledge across different fields.
The VERVEINE_Landscape Architecture_ team is coordinated by Lina Seguró Mendlewicz. Project design and technical specifications are developed in the studio.
Over the years, the studio has collaborated with the talent and dedication of Nerea Garcia, Marc Pol Santeugini, Laia Dávila, Marcos Ruiz, Gemma Picanyol, Luciana Pellegrino, Léa Bourin, Eva Caralps, Soledad Girardo, Carlos Gelpí, Sonia García, Pau Gelpí, Désirée Karam, Oriol Gelpí, and Fabiola Megnen.
The construction team is an essential part of the process. On-site coordination is led by Lina, together with Marc S., Sergi F., Samba C., Valentino Z., Víctor R., and Rafael C.

VERVEINE habits in a space with history: an antique flower shop of more than 40 years, converted into a landscape architecture studio; a working space that breathes through its knowledge and charm, full of details.
From the studio and the back office, we find LA PÉPITE: an unexpected urban garden between party walls, where different species that we have catalogued now grow in abundance. What’s more, through the passage of time, we accumulated various artificial objects that we have also inventoried.
La Pépite transforms one of VERVEINE’s gardens: a landscape architecture space where we both transform and respect the site, reflecting its history and essence, with an exuberant crown of Ailanthus altissima as a backdrop, and the surroundings of the Riera de Sant Gervasi on Carrer de Cassoles, the old “street of isolated houses.”
We have begun to explore the opportunities for transformation in this space, through which we can defend our manifesto and way of working.
Ultimately, we have made LA PÉPITE a place to share our knowledge, maintaining a portion of the city in its pure state, and contemplating and discussing the poetics of space.
